You can use ISO 200 black-and-white film to get a great balance between versatility and dramatic results. After the film is developed, try getting prints on various paper types, like fiber papers.
You should ensure your photographs have three vital things when you're having to deal with any type of landscape subject. A good landscape has interesting content in the foreground, in the background, and also in between the two, in the mid-ground.
